Saturday just gone saw a monumental day for Maldon Rugby Club! The 1st team continued their winning streak against a strong Billericay side which meant they are now Counties 2 Essex League Champions! With two league games still remaining, the team cannot be caught, but they know the importance of continuing their good form into these last two league fixtures to ensure a 100% win record in the league for two years in a row.
Also, the postponed Essex President's Shield final from the 2021.22 season was being played for as well against Billericay. The victory means that Maldon also have some well deserved silverware!
Across on the other pitch the 2nd team continued their fantastic form by getting yet another victory. They are now sitting at second in the table, a strong finish to the season will be needed by the 'Vikings'!
Thanks to all those who came down to support the club this weekend, it makes a huge difference for the players and highlights what a great position the club is currently in!
